This clip really resonates for me- having been part of the project Tania talks about in this clip and also needing an interpreter at uLearn Conferences in the beginning! I haven't blogged in a Kindergarten as this team did( and still does even when the teaching team has changed ) but the rest could have been a snippet from the team I was in at the time re: magnification and learning outcomes.
Their blog has been going for many years now- take a peek...

This process of getting started doesn't sound too daunting!
ReplyDeleteIt seems really good to be able to communicate with the wider learning community. I wonder about an open blog- should children's work be on line?
ReplyDeleteI agree that this can be one of the biggest dilemmas when setting up a blog. However it is not really likely that people with less than honorable intentions are interested in a local kindergarten blog. There's too much out there on websites designed for degenerates to distract them ( !) It can also be hard work to keep the community current with access and passwords etc....just getting everyone to be able to read their newsletter can be challenging enough! Open blogs are easy to get into.... and perhaps prospective families can see 'what we value here'....without being as open as facebook.
